It's well researched and documented that millionaires and other super achievers read the equivalent of two books per week on average. That comes out to 104 books within the course of a year. With that amount of knowledge intake, it doesn't come as a surprise when they reach extremely high levels of success. On the other side of the coin, the average person reads less than six books per year. This lack of priority on self-education is one of the biggest reasons the average person does not become successful.
As I'm writing this piece and describing that kind of bookstore, the one that's actually playing freely in my imagination is Libreria Bookstore which is located inside the artsy haven of Cubao Expo in Quezon City.
But we have also other needs like self-actualization and here is where personal growth and fulfillment belong to. Here is where Reading Books falls. In this sense, reading is a necessity.
If you are not sure about which books you should be reading to your child, don't think too far. There are thousands of books out there just for children and any of them will do. When they are young, look for books that have large multi-coloured pictures, and that may have few words. The stories should be very simple and should wrap up quickly. As they grow older, the books can then become a bit more detailed, though pictures are still very important. Relating pictures to words is going to be very helpful when they start school.
Publish His Work - Have your child take photos with a sturdy digital camera. Print them out, and then see whether he can write a story to go with them. Bind the pages between a homemade cover, and add the book to your home library.
